Course Description
The oval shaped course is 1 mile 4 furlongs in distance and run left handed. The bends are tight and there are some undulations. There are nine fences to a lap of this course. Two of these are open ditches and there is one water jump.

Facilities
Paddock Enclosure:

The Paddock enclosure offers panoramic views over the racetrack and enables the public to view the horses in the pre parade ring, parade ring and winners' enclosure. The Paddock and Wynnstay Restaurants and all other private hospitality suites are also included in this area. Food, drink, betting and convenience facilities are all available, with three public bars, and various snack outlets to cater for racegoers. A number of tables are made available in the Wynnstay Restaurant for the public to walk in on the day and take advantage of the delicious food on offer (Subject to availability).

Course Enclosure:

Food, drink, betting and convenience facilities are all available and we are happy for visitors to bring picnics to the Course Enclosure. BBQs are permitted on the Course enclosure, however the course asks that you are considerate to other racegoers when operating a BBQ. For anyone wishing to bring a Gazebo onto the course enclosure, there are designated Gazebo areas that are clearly signed there is a charge for this.

Families are welcome to bring picnics to the Course Enclosure during race meetings.

Disabled Racegoers:

Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse pride themselves in providing modern facilities for all racegoers. Their disabled policy and facilities for 2008 are as follows: Limited hard-standing parking is available in the Bangor-on-Dee car park, facilitating easy access to the turnstiles. Alternatively, there are designated disabled car parking areas in all car parks.

The Racecourse is single storey, making all public areas easily accessible to disabled racegoers. A raised viewing platform is provided in the Paddock enclosure. Disabled amenities are available in all areas and enclosures of the racecourse. Aid dogs are welcome. Disabled racegoers will be charged the standard ticket price but if they are accompanied by a carer, the carer may enter designated areas free of charge.

By Road: From the M6, take the A525 to Whitchurch. Racegoers arriving from the South should use the A5

By Rail: The nearest station is Wrexham which is four miles from the course. A free bus service is available from the station to the course on racedays
