Doncaster: St Ledger 2016

For the last four days Doncaster has hosted the traditional St Leger Stakes. This festival draws to a close on Saturday the 10th September with the world famous Ladbrokes St Leger Stakes drawing a close to proceedings.

The St Leger Stakes is a group 1 flat horse race ran over a distance of 1mile 6furlongs and 132 yards. It happens every year in September and is open to 3year old thoroughbred colts and fillies. It is the final leg of the English Triple Crown that started earlier in the year with the 2000 Guineas and then Derby. St Legers is also the final leg of the Fillies Triple Crown. Overall it is the last race of the year out of the 5 British Classics:

  1. 2,000 Guineas Stakes

  2. 1,000 Guineas Stakes

  3. Epsom Oaks

  4. Epsom Derby

  5. St. Leger Stakes

It’s one of Britain's oldest race courses after being established in 1776!

Our week has had ups and downs so far with a 25% strike rate on day one, 42% strike rate on day two and a poor day on three with a miserly 8% strike we hope to bounce back with a bang on the final day four! With that in mind, here are the first three races for free:

14:00 Grey Britain ew 25/1 - Thunder Snow win 3/1
14:35 Double Up ew 10/1 - Final Venture ew 8/1
15:10 Richard Pankhurst win 6/4 - Adaay win 7/1

Good luck folks!
