Frankie Dettori - Close to 3,000th win

Frankie Dettori, a legendary Jockey of horse racing is setting his sights on a remarkable 3,000th career victory.

 

With less than two weeks to go until Goodwood, Dettori is looking to the courses biggest race of the year at the course to mark his achievement. Some may say it is meant to be as Dettori’s first ever race win came at Goodwood in 1987. In an interview Dettori stated:

 

"It's been a great journey, but I'm not trying to plan it like [AP] McCoy. If it does happen it would be ironic, if it does not happen I'm not going to cry about it.

"The most important thing is to promote Qatar and making it [the meeting] a great success."

 

With just 10 more wins to go until Dettori hits the incredible milestone, here are a selection of big races that he has made a fortune in prize money:
