Course Description

On the 25 March 2006, Kempton Racecourse proudly opened its new 18.5 million floodlit all weather racetrack. The outer ten furlong track is oval in shape and will host the 6f, 7f ,1m, 1m3f, 1m4f and 2m races. The inner track is and eight furlong oval and will accommodate the 5f and 1m2f races. Boasting 42 floodlights for increasingly popular evening meetings, 28 of the poles are able to lay flat to the ground so not to obscure the view during daytime meetings. The jump course has also had a makeover. The home straight of the jump course has been moved closer to the grandstand. This has increased the jump surface by 10m which will help in providing fresh ground for each meeting. Extensive improvements have also been made to the take off and landing areas at each fence.
