Newbury Races: Clem Fandango

Clem Fandango is apparently the horse to beat today in the ‘Weatherbys Super Sprint’ (2yo, 5f 34y, Class 2, 23 runners).

The horse is owned by the Middleham Park Racing syndicate who has had a robust 41 winners to top up the total of 803 since formation.

Quick Calmdango Fandango facts:

  • Age: 2 (Foaled March 17th, 2014)

  • Sex: Bay Filly

  • Breeding: Elzaam (AUS) - Question (USA) Coronado's Quest (USA)

  • Trainer: K Dalgleish

  • Owner: Middleham Park Racing Lxxv

Middleham Park’s Mike Prince was quoted as stating:

"On the book, she's definitely the one to beat. It was a really good run at Ascot behind a superstar and a French filly - she beat all the Brits.

She's only carrying 8st so she's got bottom weight and the best form, that doesn't normally happen. Already she owes us nothing.

She's got Group Two black type and we'll go looking for more after this but as she qualifies for this race with £250,000 up for grabs, we'd be mad not to target some of it.

We had Lily's Angel beaten in a photo-finish a few years ago and she went on to be a very good filly. She only cost £8,000, so it would be nice to go one better."

So folks, here is a last look at the vital stats ahead of the race today, how will you be backing? Straight for a win bet or each-way?

  • Lifetime (Flat):

    • Runs: 4

    • 1st: 1

    • 2nd: 2

    • 3rd: 1

    • Win %: 25.0%

Good Luck team! If you fancy a bet, do it responsibly!
