Course Description


The course is run left-handed and is oval in shape. It is one mile six furlongs in circumference.The straight course hosts races of up to one mile. This generally galloping course has a steady climb from the turn into the straight which makes it a testing track. There is no hard evidence of a regular draw advantage at this course.

Facilities


The Premier Enclosure: There are three restaurants within this enclosure. The Gosforth Park Suite and The Park View Suite offer buffet packages from �100 + VAT per person. Both suites have their own bar.

The Charles Brandling Room offers carvery packages from �50 + VAT per person. Advance booking is advised. Liquid refreshment is provided in The Brandling House, which boasts a cocktail lounge and The Brandling Bar.

The Colonel Porter Stand has the Colonel Porters Premier Bar and Food Outlet serving a selection of hot and cold sandwiches, snacks, and hot and cold beveragesThe Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure: Within this enclosure, The Family Foodhall provides family-style meals, such as lasagne, pies, fish and chips and a selection of hot and cold sandwiches, salads, soup, snacks and hot and cold beverages, in the seated food hall. Prices from around �2.00 for a light snack and up to �4.95 for a hot plated meal. There are three bars within this enclosure, The Blaydon Races Bar, The Eider Bar and The Silver Ring Bar. (open on selected fixtures family and festival fixtures) Other food outlets in this enclosure include The Picnic Basket that offers a selection of hot and cold sandwiches and snacks and hot and cold beverages. The Nosebag offers fish and chips, burgers, sausages and hot and cold beverages. And for confectionery and snacks The Pit Stop is the place.

Directions


By Car: Follow the brown and white tourist board signs bearing the horse and ride from the A1, A19 and main approach roads to the city.Car Parking is free of charge.

By Rail: Newcastle Central Station is on the main East Coast line and is only 15 minutes by car/taxi to Newcastle Racecourse.
