Dante Stakes: Wings Of Desire Wins

The Dante Stakes at York today was certainly an emotional finish. Favourite to win the race "Midterm" finished unplaced whilst Wings Of Desire, ridden by Frankie Dettori won.

The team at Race Day Ratings were slightly disappointed as our rating "Deauville" led the race for much of it but was outrun at the end to finish 2nd. Finishing 2nd was enough to place and ensure a small profit but it we'd have been much happier getting a 1st place return and I am sure our subcribers will agree!

Wings Of Desire had odds of 9/1 for the race...backers will certainly be happy. Trainer John Gosden has also indicated that the winner is likely to be added as a supplementary entry to Epsom on the 4h June.

Quoted by the BBC, Gosden went on to describe Wings of Desire as "freakish" and that the objective for Deauville is the French Derby.
